Spielräume für Partnerschaften schaffen

This article deals with the great relevance of Federal Waterways for the German transport, and tourism industry. It is a brief summary of the work conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers with empirical data of goods transported through the vast length of Germany’s waterway channels. The study considered various methods of financing including PPPs as potential or alternative means of financing for rehauling and refurbishment of the existing infrastructure on the German waterways. A benchmarking was used with France, Netherlands, and UK to consider how neighbouring countries shave organized their financing and maintenance of waterways in a sustainable manner to come up with recommendations for German waterways.
